Inside the book

Five parts, read in the order of the retreat

  1. Part One

    Retreat

The 40-day schedule: daily prayer, readings on the virtues, and Scripture, ending with Lectio Divina on the Gospel of John.

  2. Part Two

    Assessment

An honest look at the world, at ourselves, and at our relationship with God through the seven churches of Revelation.

  3. Part Three

    Moral Theology

The powers of the soul, human acts, habits, the law, and grace, explained in plain language.

  4. Part Four

    The Virtues

60 virtues, each on a single page: its meaning, the vices opposed to it, how to grow in it, Scripture, and a saint to learn from.

  5. Part Five

    The Rosary of Virtues

The Rosary prayed with a petition for a different virtue before each Hail Mary.

The Rosary of Virtues

A virtue for every Hail Mary

Before each Hail Mary, the one who prays asks for a particular virtue. It begins with faith, hope, and charity, continues through the five decades, and ends with sanctity, so the familiar mysteries become a daily school of virtue: 54 virtues asked for every day.

We ask through Our Lady, the Mediatrix of All Graces, as the persistent widow kept asking the judge (Luke 18:1–8).

First decadeUnderstanding, wisdom, joy, mercy, trust in God…
Second decadePrudence, docility, foresight, simplicity, integrity…
Third decadeJustice, obedience, fidelity, gratitude, piety…
Fourth decadeFortitude, courage, perseverance, patience…
Fifth decadeTemperance, humility, purity, detachment…

About the press

Our mission

Marian Missions Media publishes Catholic books that help readers seek holiness and walk the path of salvation. Our titles draw on Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, the Doctors of the Church, Catholic mystics, and the lives of the saints, and they are written in plain language for ordinary readers, not specialists.

Our books are meant to awaken souls to what is at stake, form them in the faith, and give them practical tools for prayer and growth in virtue that they can use every day.

We are a small, independent publisher consecrated to Our Lady. Every book we publish has one purpose: to lead souls to Heaven.

About the author

Eduardo Eckmann

Eduardo Eckmann is a cradle Catholic who for years went to Mass every Sunday without grasping the meaning of eternity. A dream in 2009 opened his eyes: he saw that he had been living as a lukewarm Christian, and he opened his heart to Christ. Through Saint Louis de Montfort's consecration to Jesus through Mary, he and his family entrusted themselves to Our Lady, the greatest blessing of their lives.

What began as a prayer book for the Rosary of Virtues led him to Saint Thomas Aquinas, and to Eternal Happiness, a personal retreat that makes this timeless wisdom on the soul and the virtues accessible to everyone.
